This locomotion sequence is great for developing squat / lower body mobility and overall body control. Consider adding it directly into a training day (it can be a great addition prior to your strength or conditioning work, for example, especially on a squat day), or simply throw it into your day as movement play and exploration anytime you need a movement break.
As always, take your time and prioritize movement quality. Adapt as needed.
Consider putting on a 5-minute clock:
- Monkey
- Hop to loaded beast
- Hop back to deep squat
- Monkey (opposite direction)
- Hop to loaded beast
- Hop back to deep squat
- Frogger x 1
- Come to stand
- 1 Air squat
- Return to deep squat
- Frogger x 1
- Come to stand
- 1 Air squat
- Return to deep squat
- Repeat OR option to do 6-8 steps backwards bear to return to start position
This sequence can get spicy on legs, so stand up to shake out legs as needed.
