Beginner Flow

As defined by Animal Flow.com: "Animal Flow is ground based movement, made fun, challenging and effective. This system is designed to improve strength, power, flexibility, mobility, and coordination for all levels of fitness enthusiasts". (Please note that this platform does not certify you to teach Animal Flow. Visit the Animal Flow website to learn about their courses. (Please note that J2N's program is NOT a certification course / does not quality you to teach AF.)

In this beginner series for individuals new to flow, Animal Flow L2 Instructor and J2N Owner, Jenn Lymburner, will take you through a series of beginner LESSONS, which teach the individual movements and components of flow. Then, follow along with actual "Flows" where you learn to combine movements.

Make sure to go through your "prep" session prior to tackling any of the lessons or flows to ensure your body (especially wrists) are ready for the session.

  • Lesson #1 - Beast, Crab, Underswitches & Crab Reach

    In this lesson, learn about static crab, static beast, limb lifts in both positions, and crab reach. Make sure to complete your prep session prior to diving in.

  • Lesson #2: Unload, Wave Unload & Scorpion Reach

    In this lesson, you'll learn the: Unload, Wave Unload & Scorpion Reach. Make sure you've completed your prep session prior to diving in.

  • Lesson #3: Beast Reach, Front Step & Front Step Through

    In this lesson, you'll learn the: Beast Reach, Front Step & Front Step Through. Make sure to complete your prep session prior to diving in.

  • Lesson #4: Travelling Beast, Crab & Ape

    In this lesson, you'll learn how to do the following travelling forms: Ape, crab and beast. Make sure to tackle your prep session prior to diving in.

  • Lesson #5 - Jumping Underswitch & Underswitch Tap

    In this lesson, you'll learn the: Jumping Underswitch & Underswitch Tap. Make sure to complete your prep session first, as well as ensure you're comfortable with regular underswitches prior to diving in.

  • Lesson #6 - Side Kick Through Variations

    In this lesson, you'll learn the side kick through, and both jumping and levitating variations. Make sure you've tackled your prep session to start.

  • Lesson #7 - Full Scorpion & Scorpion Switch

    In this lesson, you'll learn the full scorpion and scorpion switch. Make sure you do your prep work prior to diving in. You should also be comfortable with the scorpion reach and underswitches prior to tackling this lesson.

  • Lesson #8: Front Kick Through & Deep Ape Reach

    In lesson, you will learn the Deep Ape Reach & Front Kick Through. Make sure to complete your prep work prior to starting.

  • Lesson #9: Travelling Bear & Frog

    Take some time as needed to complete your prep work (especially wrist mobilizations). Then, spend a few minutes go through this tutorial, followed by any practice time desired.
